Forecasts and weather Dubai/UAE and Oman

• lajollasurf.org - 5 day forecast of wave heights for the Indian Ocean
• bahrainweather.com - has some marine forecasts, usually what happens there is what you can expect to see in the UAE 12 to 24 hours later.
• buoyweather.com - Oman virtual buoy map - good reference. Nothing for Dubai though.
• www.dubaicoast.org - (moved) live swell and wind readings, tides and photos from camera on top of the Burj Al Arab.
• dubiameteo.com - Sharjah based weather service. Not forecasts but gives temperature, humidity and wind readings.
• khaleejtimes.com - local weather forecast, including tide timetable
• magicseaweed.com - Oman forecasts - excellent! Has reports for Al Ashkarah and Salalah. None for Dubai though.
• www.swellfinder.com - UAE/Oman swell forecast - usually not available but useful when they are.
• surforecasts.com - Collection of surf and weather forecast links from surfersvillage.com (surf news and other stuff) - see Africa for links for the Indian Ocean, and Australasia West for links for Oman, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Indonesia. Not to be confused with surforecast.com which is for USA only.
• uaemet.gov.ae - Dubai - Oman - if they don't work (often happens), try the marine or numerical forecasts. They may not work either but it's quite a good 2 day forecast when it's available. Maybe you need to sign in first? There's a handy temperature reading also, and wind etc.
• US NAvy 48 hour animated forecast of wave heights for the Arabian Gulf - from navy site, slow loading and often needs certificate installed. Seems to be less accurate than in the past (as of April 2004)
• US Navy 48 hour animated forecast of wave heights for the Oman coast - also shows part of the gulf and often seems to have more accurate readings for Dubai than the Gulf forecast.
• US Navy water temperatures - for the Gulf and NE Oman coast
• windfinder.com - UAE/Oman wind forecast
• windguru.cz - Abu Dhabi - Dubai - Fujairah - 7 day forecast of wind, temperature, rain, cloud and windhuru rating (for wind or kitesurfing), Fujeirah also includes wave height.

• lajollasurf.org - 120 hour forecasts - animated and still
• buoyweather.com - has virtual buoys all over the place including quite a few off the Oman coast. Free 3 day trial or pay annual fee to get extra information.
• magicseaweed.com - good longer range forecasts for Oman and elsewhere (swell, wind, water temperature).
• oceanweather.com - indian ocean readings
• navo.navy.mil - US Navy Website - click search by map find wave forecasts
• wetsand.com - has forecasts for Africa and Maldives and other worldwide spots.

• wannasurf.com - worldwide surf guide with home page styled after the lonely planet online guide, includes sections on Oman and Lebanon. Has maps of spots, comments, photos, reports and comments.

• SOD message board and forum - the best surf discussion forum on the web!
• Old SOD message boards  - inaccessible directly but the Internet Wayback Machine has them here if you can get around the block in the UAE.
