May 2003

A good start to the month with three consecutive days of swell around 1.5m - Friday 02 May was a great day - offshore/glassy 4-6 ft faces -  and if you look closely at the photo from 02 May you can even see a couple of happy SODs in the water!

The Bay of Bengal forecast is there just for something different - could be a few waves in Sri Lanka or the Maldives out of that...

April 2003

First row of photos shows sequence over a 12 hour period on April 29, not often you get such a quick buildup during the day. This swell peaked at about 1.5m in the evening around 2100 - a good size for Dubai in April.

March 2003

An impressive start to the month with a swell maxing out at 2.1m but not much else except for 1.9m in the middle of the month.

February 2003

One of the biggest swells I've ever seen in Dubai came through 17/18 February - peak of about 2.5m at 0400 on 18 February. Road in front of Moscow Beach was flooded. The only place I think anyone managed to paddle out was Thieves Corner where I dropped into a 10 ft face. For comparison, since DCZMP started taking readings in June 2002, biggest previous swells were 1.9m (twice) in December.
